Petrol was cheaper by Rs 2.16 a litre and diesel Rs 2.10 on Monday, reversing the four week trend of rising rates.
The new prices were effective Tuesday midnight. The cost of a litre of petrol in Delhi will now be Rs 65.32, against Rs 68.09. A litre of diesel will cost Rs 54.90, compared to Rs 57.35.
From Tuesday, Petrol was cheaper by Rs 2.16 per litre and diesel Rs 2.10, according to a statement by Indian Oil Crop, the nation’s largest fossil fuel retailer.The extent of reduction in retail prices will very according to state levies.
IOC, in a statement, said,The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant decrease in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision.
The movement of prices in the international oil market and INR-USD exchange rate will continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes,the company said.
