Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee rebuked private schools and institutions and asked to reduce the admission fees and to stop donations at a press conference yesterday.

Nowadays, Donations in educational institutions are one of the biggest hurdles for a student to overcome. Many have suffered and many dreams have been shattered because of the huge amount of donation fees.

Renowned educational Institutes and Universities of Kolkata like La Martiniere (2.47 lac), Heritage School (1.85 lac) and St. Xavier’s (5-10 lac) are asked to put down their donation procedure as soon as possible. Cabinet Minister Partha Chaterjee also pointed out that the sloppy process can be better if the donations are taken down from the admission procedure.

Sikshayatan Institution had also been accused for making students listen to political lectures. Chief minister has asked again and again to all the institutes to reduce the Admission fees as well.
