12 YEAR OLD BOY MAKES SILIGURI PROUD AT NATIONAL SPELLBEE CONTEST

Garv Jain, 12, a student of St. Micheals School has qualified for the National Spellbee contest being held at Mumbai. After qualifying from Siliguri they were taken to Kolkata last week, where an online round was held at 98.3 Radio Mirchi Office. From there on 16 students were selected for the national round of the CLASSMATE National Spellbee Contest, purely on the basis of marks scored, irrespective of the city they came from, out of which one was Garv Jain. Then the next round was held at Mumbai yesterday where all 16 contestants were divided into 4 groups and one winner from each group would make it into the top 4 for the Grand Finale to be held on 12.03.17. Garv has qualified for the top 4, receiving a trophy and a cash prize ofRs. 50000/=. He will now be contesting for the National  Spellbee champion title who will receive a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakhs and a paid trip to Washington D.C. with one of the parents. The finale will be hosted by actress Zoya Ali Khan and the Chief Guest will be Cricketer Virendra Sehwag. The winner will also represent India at the International Level. Garv’s proud father

 

 

Garv’s proud father, Vikas Dungarwal, has dedicated this achievement to the people of Siliguri and is thankful to the School and the City for giving his son an opportunity to put Siliguri at the national platform and bringing pride to his city.
