20 day Camp in the borders of Sikkim comes to an end


On 28.03.17, 36th Bn SSB Geyzing organized closing ceremony of the Sewing Training for youth girls of bordering villages of West Sikkim and distribution of Library Books to adopted 06 Schools at Ribdi under North East welfare fund. The camp lasted for 20 days (w.e.f. 09.03.17 to 28.03.17) 

Chief guest of the programme was Sh. Vandana Saxena, DIG, Sector Hqrs Gangtok while Smt Nar Maya, Zila Panchayat Member, West Sikkim participated as guest of honor. Other prominent figures of the programme were Sh. Gayas Pega, SDM Soreng, Smt. Furlamu Sherpa, Gram Pradhan Ribdi-Bhoreng Panchyat, Smt. Furtemba Sherpa, Panchayat Secretary Ribdi, Sh. P. T. Sherpa, Principal Primary School Bhoreng, other Panchyat Members and Officers and officials of SSB.

During the programme, Sh. Lalit Kumar, Second-in-Command, 36th Bn Geyzing welcomed all guests by paying Khadas. After that he spoke about the general welfare programmes for bordering youths (both girls & boys) organized by SSB. He further expressed that such programmes organized by SSB would help the border youths to be self employed and lead a better livelihood. Meanwhile, a cultural programme was also performed by students and trainees.

The 20 trainees were then distributed Sewing Machine with Paddle and all accessories and Library Books were distributed in the 06 school adopted by SSB. After that guest of honor Smt Nar Maya, Zila Panchayat Member addressed the gathering and acknowledged such initiatives taken by the SSB for bordering youths for the betterment of their career leading to sustining a livelihod.

In the conclusion of the programme, Sh. Bikash Kr. Asstt. Commandant, 36th Bn gave vote of thanked all participants of the ceremony for sparing their valuable time for the programme.
