Darjeeling: 90 days of movement on the hills, some of the supporters and activists of the Front were arrested for spreading unrest. Today Morcha leader Vinay Tamang came to Siliguri at the judicial custody and met the leaders, supporters and activists living here.
Mean while, he stated to the reporters that on 29 August, Kolkata and 12th of September were also one of our agenda to release those arrested in the meeting with the Chief Minister. Total of 119 Morcha leaders including both male and female from hills, activists were arrested from Darjeeling, Tarai, Dooars area during a 90-day movement on the hills.
Some of them are in judicial custody in both the Siliguri and Jalpaiguri. Today Vinay Tamang came and met these people in Siliguri. However, he refused to give a call. Tamang also said that this is all political matters and there is no complainer against anyone.
All are innocent. We appealed to the state government to leave them and now we will also take legal process. There are also women in the arrested people, An their children are too small.
He said that he would go to Jalpaiguri from here and also meet the front workers living in the judicial custody.
