The Yogi Adityanath government has proposed the construction of the statue of Lord Ram in Ayodhya of a 100-meter tall on Sarayughat, as part of its plan to showcase “Navya Ayodhya.” Apart from the statue, other structures of public utility will also be built in the town. The money for these projects has been partly sanctioned by the Central government.
The proposal was presented to Governor Ram Naik as part of the state tourism department which is aimed at promoting religious tourism.
Principal Secretary, tourism, Awanish Kumar Awasthi made the presentation in a slideshow. The height was told to be 100 m, but it is not fixed.
The communique stated that the statue will be build at Saryughat after clearance from the National Green Tribunal.
