Baichung Bhutia remains silent on Gorkhaland, Mr. Chamling concerned for Sikkim

Siliguri, 21st August: Bhaichung Bhutia denies to have said anything regarding Sikkim’s stand on the Gorkhaland issue of Bengal. He said that he would comment on the hill problem after a while. He said this in reply to a question which was asked by a reporter on whether he supports the stand taken by Sikkim Chief Minister, Mr. Pawan Kumar Chamling, expressed at the center.

Mr Chamling had expressed his concern about the road connectivity, which has been disrupted due to the tensions in North Eastern Bengal. This has been affecting the tourism and economy of Sikkim. He also expressed his concerns and suggested that the Central Government should interfere immediately and foster a better environment in this part of country.
